In February of 2017, my sister treated my husband and me to a night away. When we checked in, the woman at reception asked, “Is it your anniversary?” No, not until June. At dinner that night, the waiter wanted to know, “Is it someone’s birthday?” Nope, we just missed one, and the other is months away.

A few weeks ago, our current presidential administration released their goals for the upcoming year’s budget. And while I could turn this post into an epic rant about everything I hate about that budget, I am going to hone in on just one thing I loathe: a near elimination of funding to the arts.
We are currently nine months into our nine-month remodel, and I’m thrilled to say, we’ve got about two months to go. This statement makes perfect sense to anyone who’s gone through this process. And for those of you who haven’t been through it, bookmark this sentence for later. You’re gonna need it.
A dream is a powerful thing. It can inspire, it can energize, it can illuminate. But unless it mobilizes, well, a dream is just a dream.
Last weekend I was fortunate enough to witness a dear friend’s dream taking flight.
I’m blessed to have some particularly fantastic men in my life. With my incredible husband, sons, and brothers, my wonderful my brother-in-law, nephews, and friends, and the memory of very special, very loving father – I’ve won the lottery of great men.
But this post is not for them. Sorry, guys. This one is for my gurls.
