I’m Not a Green Beauty Blogger….

I’m Not a Green Beauty Blogger….

…but for the next 10 days, I’m going to play one on Social Media.

In honor of Senators Dianne Feinstein and Susan Collins introducing the Personal Care Products Safety Act, I’m going to focus on clean and green beauty for the next 10 days on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter. Whoopah!

Did you know that according to the non-profit Environmental Working Group (EWG), most women put at least 168 different chemicals on their bodies A DAY, and men, 85? And virtually NONE of these chemicals are regulated or tested for safety. In fact, Feinstein and Collins say that what regulatory laws DO exist have barely changed since the 1930s.* Dayum.

If These Walls Could Talk

If These Walls Could Talk

We are currently nine months into our nine-month remodel, and I’m thrilled to say, we’ve got about two months to go. This statement makes perfect sense to anyone who’s gone through this process. And for those of you who haven’t been through it, bookmark this sentence for later. You’re gonna need it.

So, we recently finished yet another vegan detox. Or as we like to call it, Two Weeks Vegan. As usual, we had a bumpy start, a happy middle, and an energetic, great-feeling end.

But this time something was different.

Life is but a Dream

Life is but a Dream

A dream is a powerful thing. It can inspire, it can energize, it can illuminate. But unless it mobilizes, well, a dream is just a dream.

Last weekend I was fortunate enough to witness a dear friend’s dream taking flight.

The Christmas Miracle

The Christmas Miracle

In my family, we have a little something called The Christmas Miracle. It started when I was younger, working in New York, and had a series of rather harrowing trips home to my sister’s house in South Carolina for Christmas. One year my flight was cancelled. Another year, a surprise snowstorm snarled traffic, and my flight took off while I was still in the Midtown Tunnel. Yet another year I went to LaGuardia instead of Newark. Sigh.
